Electric shock from Portable Cable 7424XP?
I bought the portable cable orbital buffer back in April this year and used it once (including on the highest speed).
Took it out today to polish my vehicle and when I turned it to the highest speed I instantly felt like something was strange. The vibrations on the auxiliary handle felt very intense and kept on increasing in intensity to the point that it felt almost like an electric shock. I had to let go of the buffer and managed to switch it off but I was scared. Believe me, it was very much like and electric shock.
I'm using the same technique I used previously and this felt very different. The buffer has been in dry storage since April.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? What can I do to fix this?
Thanks.

I'd put one or two on the backing plate thread and tighten the backing plate to the 7424. See f that makes a difference. If you lost the washers go to a local hardware store and look for some replacements.
