Default Dried wax on headlights...

Apparently, I have dried wax on my headlights and won't come off regardless of how hard I scrub. Should I wet sand them? TIA!

Default Dried wax on headlights

Before you get into sanding, I'd recommend Griot's Garage "Dried on Wax Remover". You can also but some acetone at a hardware store & try that.

Wetsanding to remove wax????? Cmon guys. Try polishing it first. You can even use some goo gone or 3M General Purpose Cleaner.

What wax is it? What polish did you use? How did you apply/remove the polish?

acetone may discolor the plastic on the headlights....not too many glass headlights out there anymore.

Lol...I meant to quote the part about the Dried on Wax Remover...I don't think I would use acetone.

Just talked to an auto detailing specialist, and he claims it's "UV Acrillic Damage" as opposed to wax. It's on both of my inner lights. (Note: I bought the car this way) Here's a picture:

That's simple too....that same detailer, if proficient and knowledgeable, should be able to polish or wetsand the lights properly. A closer-view picture would help.

Do the lenses look foggy or "faded"? Also, keep in mind that once you wetsand and polish a polycarbonate headlamp and unless a UV coating or periodic cleaning is done, you may need to redo the job again.

The headlights are crystal clear except for that one part - reason why I thought it was wax.

As I stated earlier, I will take a close-up picture tomorrow.
