Would it be OK to use the orange type products such as Oxi-Clean on the carpet in the car? I've seen them do wonders in household carpets, I wouldn't think automotive would be any different but I don't like potentially harmful experiments in my car.

Some of those TV commercials show a guy with a squirt bottle soaking a carpet sample stained with grape juice. I would not recommend soaking the carpet in your Lexus.

Maybe you can make a paste?

I use Blue Coral Dri-Clean Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner
23 fl. oz. trigger spray. Available at most auto stores.

Quick and easy way to clean carpets and upholstery
Safe to use on wool, nylon and other synthetics
Penetrating foam lifts and suspends dirt
Contains 'Spot and Stain Lifting Action'
Effective on grease, tar, coffee, wine, ink, lipstick, blood and more

Just spray it on, brush the foam in several directions, let it dry, and vacuum up the residue. Has worked great for me every time

The Dri Clean product is a great one, and what I used to use, but by far the best product I've ever found is something my girlfriend bought for our pet stains. I have a really light carpet here in my den and it stains pretty bad. This stuff sprays on, has a pleasant scent, and wipes right off, and so far I haven't found a stain it won't take out, in the car or in the house. Its called "Simple Solution Stain and Odor Remover" with a picture of a grey cat and a beagle on the front. No joke, it worked on stains nothing, not even the Dri Clean would get out. Saved me renting a shampooer. They have a website I just noticed on the back of the bottle. www.bramton.com

Give it a shot, its great stuff.

Try the Oxi-Clean paste or maybe try it in a in spray bottle.

Hey, it won't hurt to try. Post a follow-up here.
