Default How do i? Nevermind, i figured it out - progress pics inside

As the title suggests, i need some help stretching part of my image. I am trying to make a simple bodykit for my car but i have hit a snag - The sideskirts arent 'low' enough. I have them on a separate layer, so i thought i could just select the skirts, then use the transformation tool to stretch the selected area down a bit. But when i click apply, it thinks a bit... and then stretches the selection box only! it doesnt actually stretch part of the image i have selected!

What am i doing wrong!? This is a new version of Photoshop, and everything has changed so much since last version (i had done plenty of 'chopping' on an earlier version). If i cant figure it out, this is seriously going to hamper my rim fitment when i get to it!

Thanks!

Progress so far:

Talking Ok, figured it out myself

Ok, so i figured that to move, skew or do anything interesting with my selection i need to use the MOVE tool. Select 'Show Bounding Box', and then Ctrl+Click & Drag on a corner block to do the adjustments...

Next question:
How do i do a chrome tint? I guess the question should be "How can i draw a silver metallic surface from scratch?"

Here is a progress pic:

Talking LoL

I really should just try to figure things out before i ask questions! Ok, i did the chrome tinting (well a 'sort' of chrome tinting), by using the gradient fill (once i had selected the appropriate areas using the polygon lassoo tool). I used light blue and a darker blue in the gradient to mimic the reflection of a blue sky on the tint (i have this tint on my car now and that is generally how it looks). I then tinted the other side windows which are visible through the front windscreen by selecting, filling with black at 40% opacity. The front windscreen was then tinted using 50% opacity gradient tool.

Then i deleted all badges, cleared my indicators, gave it a new numberplate...

I am finished now, but open to suggestions. Otherwise here it is:
Toyota Soarer (SC400)
19"x10 & 19"x9 Chrome Kranze Rapia (Rapier? Got them from a Japanese site - very deep dish)
Custom bodykit based on AutoCouture kit
Chrome tint
Shaved badges
D-Speed Clear indicators
Lowered with stock airbag suspension (i didnt modify the ride height from the pic i took)

Thanks for your comments...

Do you mean the wheel design is nasty or the quality of the 'chop? If it is the design, what wheels do you reckon i should go for? (Keep in mind i want the VIP look, not really after the 'racey' look). the pic i took the wheels from was prolly a bit small so i lost some clarity there...

Where can i see the RX330 tint? My tint is actually a bit more greeney-goldy than that - not so completely chrome.

I'll try to redo the pic based on your suggestions - lemme know what wheels i should use!

those wheels just look cheap to me, too much chrome and too small of slots. the chop quality i wasnt looking at, i just dont like the wheels. check the sc gallery, there are some nice wheels in there

yeah, the greeny chrome color is what im talking about, it came factory on the rx300. i think daddy-o has a pic as his sig...

Hmmm, no offence, but i prefer the 'cheap' wheels... I like the fat look, and being 3 piece Japanese rims (Weds), i think they'll pass

Hmm... Now that i see the pic on my work monitor (as opposed to my dodgy laptop screen), the tint is kinda messed up in the second pic.!

why change the wheels at all? i love the ones you have in the original picture!

as for the tint, go with the darker 'standard' tint IMO. it really looks hot on a black SC.
