GlobeCLK 08-05-03, 11:34 PM thanks for the info! But what's with the coupon code? Seems like they offer free sunglasses no matter what code you enter. :eek2: LexDiamond 08-06-03, 12:03 AM Yea I noticed that But they require a code to checkout I believe. D-MAN63 08-06-03, 12:20 PM Seems to be its a SEMI-scam. I really believe the ACTUAL COST of those glasses is somewhere between $5-$10. Think about it, why is S&H cost $13.95 FOR SUNGLASSES?!?. The glasses cost $5-$10 and they are still making a profit off it. SC300Es 08-06-03, 07:43 PM You see these in car mags all the time. Saying goes guys...nothing in life is free. ;) GS300Rich 08-06-03, 09:50 PM I have seen these ads in car and truck mags for years. I dont think they would even be worth the s+h. LexDiamond 08-07-03, 04:54 AM Originally posted by GS300Rich I have seen these ads in car and truck mags for years. I dont think they would even be worth the s+h. I beg to differ. I'll pay $8.95 for a pair of sunglasses that is definately nicer then the $20 cheapo's at the sunglass stand. If you don't like em don't buy. I really have no idea of how the quality is , but if the quality as you say is good then its a good deal. It just seemed a little fishy to me that s&h is different for some glasses :). Also, I got a pair of $5 glasses where people came up to me and thought it costs around $300 :). Keith13b 08-07-03, 01:07 PM I have some friends that bought those from a car mag. They actually liked them, but it is a sort of scam. They are not the greatest quality in all honesty (I've seen them). But if you don't like any of the cheap sunglasses from the mall shops, its worth a shot. The funny thing was...a bunch of guys bought them together, got like six pairs, and the actual price on the shipping was $3 something..........for all 6! So they are making some cash off you. The quality is comparable to a 10-20$ pair of cheapies. The reason why my friends liked them is because they had they style they liked at such a cheap price. Its good if you loose your glasses alot. Anyway- just sharing my opinion/experience. Thanks for posting it though! I love this great deals section! Something tells me I'm gonna start getting a s- load of mags in the mail soon! SC300Es 08-07-03, 05:05 PM There is a world of difference between a cheap pair and one you pay good bucks for it. Especially if you get the polarized ones. I used to think cheap glasses were as good as the expensive ones(read couple of articles that claimed they were), but after putting on a cheap one and a good one back to back, you'll see the difference. Ed adidosc 08-09-03, 01:24 PM i definitely don't like the sound of it... free glasses..only pay $15 for shipping! eh...rather save my money for more mods. Kohinoor 08-09-03, 02:05 PM THERE IS NO RISK* *some risk involved Keith13b 08-11-03, 07:10 AM Originally posted by HoeBag THERE IS NO RISK* *some risk involved classic!:agreed: Seize 08-13-03, 03:39 PM It seems like a pretty good deal considering I paid around $200 for some Gucci's. :) LexDiamond 08-19-03, 05:06 PM 1 R2 Interchangeable Lens Sports Sunglasses 0.00 14.95 14.95 1 R3 Interchangeable Lens Sports Sunglasses 0.00 12.95 12.95 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total: $27.90 I got mine, I'll let everyone know their quality when they arrive. BTW when you order they stick you under this stipulation that there gonna continue to charge you the same rate for the amount of pairs you order every 2 months HAHHAH what a come on. I'll just cancel when my arrive :D LexDiamond 09-10-03, 04:33 PM I got mine yesterday. I used them today on the way to work. They are definately better quality then a $10 pair which is the opposite of what Keith13b stated  They are not as good as $150 Gargoyles but for $12.95 a pair they are a great deal especially considering you get 3 sets of lenses with certain frames! *anyone who ordered make sure you contact the company to CANCEL your subscription* What subscription, I just bought a few pairs of sunglasses? Well If you read the disclaimer, when you submit the order you agree to continue to receive similar pairs every 2 months for the same price :thumbdn: Very sneaky and dishonest:o gemi52273 06-24-07, 03:21 PM I got those glasses and they are in fact a semi-scam: 1. S&H is WAY over priced, they ship they glasses via first class. I checked the usps.com site and they only paid $1.64 and charged me $20 for S&H. 2. Their glasses are supposed to be "polarized", I've owned polarized sunglasses all my adult life because I can't stand the glare when driving and I know for a fact the Vanquish sunglasses are NOT polarized. 3. The model sunglasses I bought are supposed to be the ones with "interchangeable" night driving lenses and come with them too and it not only did not come with the extra lenses but the lenses on the glasses are glued to the frame. 4. The plastic used on the frame is cheap quality plastic similar to that used on the glasses sold in packs for kid's "party favors". The quality is so bad you can actually still see the line on the plastic where the mold joined. I got much better metal/rubber lining truly polarized sunglasses at the local yearly festival than from Vanquish. The only item worth it is the protective cases. They are hard cases with felt lining. So please be aware for this semi-scam. DaveGS4 06-24-07, 03:30 PM Since this post is from 2003, surprised anyone is still ordering! I'm going to close this as its almost certainly a way to sell cheap sunglasses and just charge extra on the 'handling' to make a profit. |
