I am currently looking for a good clay bar for my Lexus, and then my plan was to polish it with Finish First auto polish from Liqui-Tech, but maybe I'll try the Zaino Z-2 Show Car Polish that was tested.
I'm really trying to understand the psychology of Zaino. Maybe because it's harder to get, people get it in their head that it's the best stuff on earth and subconsciously believe that their car cannot look any better since it has this "secret" product on the finish.
Free your mind folks...
I dont' care for the Zaino zealots, but there is a fundamental difference between Blitz and Zaino.
Blitz is a caranuba wax, Zaino is a polmyer sealant. Polymer sealants protect better and longer, and have better optical clarity. The latter not meaning much because many people prefer the look from the use of caranuba waxes.
Some try for the best of both worlds by using a polymer sealant and then topping with Blitz.
I used to be a 3M IHG/Blitz user. Now I use Klasse polymer sealants.
I use Meguiar's Professional line or 3M. The Meguiars I gotta watch out though cuz once i ordered something it came in a 5 gallon container and weighed so darn much.
Can you guys elaborate on your choice of use of Klasse products? And gene, why do you not use them on your Lexus?
See, I like the deep, wet look. I can get that from Zymol, but it doesn't clean the paint, nor does it last very long - looks only.
I used most recently 3MIHG to clean, then seal with the Blitz, but I don't feel the optical qualities are as deep as a I like.
So maybe 3MIHG / ZYMOL / BLITZ?
And if I may be so bold, since some car sites poo poo on the Meguairs Cleaner/Wax, it does doa good job of cleaning my paint of blemishes, and is silky smooth after a light buffing. But, there again, not deep enough.
Just waxed my car with Zymol. I feel kinda cheated though cause I read that the Zymol you buy over the counter is basically Turtle Wax w/ a different name. Oh well, the shine is nice and still very deep, and it's better than NuFinish for sure. My mistake for using NuFinish -- never knew how harsh that stuff was.
I hope this also doesn't make you feel cheated: be prepared to re-polish and re-wax your car in 2-3 weeks if its a daily driver. Zymol is notorious for not lasting very long. I speak from experience. I went through a bunch of that stuff when I had a black car, and it was awesome, just never lasted very long.
