Default December to Remember Prices and Lease Rates

Hi everyone,
I'm about to purchase a GS350, maybe a GS460, if I can justify the cost. I put up this new thread to discuss and share some information with others that are planning on purchasing or leasing.

I'm in SoCal and so far I've been getting prices of $500-800 over invoice without haggling yet.

I'm thinking of leasing and the rates seem to be 0.00185 MF for Tier 1+.
51% residual for 12K and 49% for 15K.

I leased a Lexus last year and the MSD's used to reduce the money factor by 0.0001 but now it seems they changed it to 0.00008. They are allowing a maximum of 9 MSD deposits.

If someone can answer a few questions, I would appreciate it.

Does anybody know the current Money factor and residual for the GS460?
Do you get a 1 or 2% higher residual for putting down the max 9 MSD?
Does the Lexus Encore program give you 1 free MSD rate reduction?

Thanks

for tier 1+ i believe you can do only up to 8 MSD (on top of the 0.00185 rate)

residual does not change with MSD

I just bought a GS 460 but had considered a lease. The money factor of .00185 wasn't bad but a 51% residual (12K, 36 month) stinks for a car of this caliber. The residual for this car should be nearer 60%. I didn't take the deal and just purchased.

I normally lease all my cars (I have a web site about leasing at http://www.leaseguide.com/index2.htm) but when the deal isn't right, I'll pass it up.

This site should help you out quite a bit. You may want to post your question here: http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/financing/

Thanks for the suggestions, I believe this DtoR sale is 9 MSD's, I remember last year when I bought my RX it was 8 but at two seperate dealerships, I was told 0.00113 with 9 MSD's from the 0.00185. I'll be going in for final negotiations after Christmas. The only question I have left is, do we get 1 free MSD for the encore program?

Thanks

multiple security deposits, you pay multiple of your payment as deposit (refundable at end of lease) and each deposit buy down your money factor

Well, I'm going to pick the car up today, for those who are shopping around. I settled on $500 over invoice. I think if I pushed it and had dealers compete, I could of got another $100-$200 off or maybe invoice if the moons lined up correctly, but the dealer is close by and I had a good experience. I had my mind set on paying $500 over invoice for the car, so once my main dealer said yes, I agreed to the price. I will be leasing at the 0.00185 rate and putting down the max 9 MSD's. I post the final figures once I get the car.

Can I get some help please? I've been talking to the salesman and his invoice price and my invoice price from KBB and edmunds is different. His invoice has a $550 TDA fee, which is like an advertisement fee or something like that according to edmunds. It goes above and beyond what both KBB and Edmunds has listed. Would anybody know would this be a legit fee or should I fight it.

Thanks

I don't know about lexus but BMW charges a similar fee called "Maco" and that ranges between 200 to 400. Maybe lexus does the same.

I'll post up the full details once I get the car but the TDA fee is holding up the deal. I have another dealer that gave me a better price but I would have to drive about 1.5 hours through traffic to get there so I'm willing to pay about $200 extra at my local dealer but with the TDA fee, it becomes $750, too much of a difference for me, that's a whole months payment. If the local dealer can't get me the price, I'll just drive the 1.5 hours and pick up the car elsewhere.

It's the regional dealer advertising fee. Both the NorCal and SoCal dealers have it. It's actually on their invoice. Ask to see the invoice. On the Edmunds forums ES350 section for pricing, there's a picture posted of a SoCal one. I can't remember if the $550 number is accurate, but it's around there. I thought it was in the $450 range tho but I could be wrong.

I think the TDA fee varies with the vehicle, the ES may have a $450 fee since it's a less expensive than the GS. Anybody here who bought one in the past that negotiated from invoice know more about this? I've talked to 2 dealers and both mention this fee in their invoice. Well, we'll see.
