50k for '07 GS 350 AWD w/ Navi a good Deal?
if you can get the car for an "OTD" price equal or less than MSRP...
deal is okay...
doesn't mean you can quibble a bit though...
I would at the minimum tell them to also throw in the 10,000 Mile Service
in for FREE...
First of all, the $599 paint protectant fee is a pure profit rip-off for the dealer.
Looking at carsdirect.com, a GS350 AWD with Navi with MSRP of $50,600 would have dealer invoice in the area of $46,000. If you're paying $50,000 including a 6% tax, your car purchase price is somewhere in the area of $47,200, which is about 3% over dealer invoice. For a Lexus in high demand that is a good price.
But if you don't want to be ripped off, do ask the dealer for what is your car purchase price. Also ask them if the are any documentation fees in addition to that "out-the-door" price.
Good luck!

In any case, it's always a bad idea to focus on the out-the-door price. There is no one definition for what this term means.

It is extremely rare to damage your wheel so badly that you'd need to replace it. It is also extremely rare to damage your tire in such a way that it can't be patched up. It costs $10 to patch a tire at Costco; $15-20 at other tire places.
My personal opinion is that you'd be wasting $700. I'd buy such insurance if it were below $100, but no more than that.
