That black rubber door pieces starting to bugging me...
It does have a nice chrome accent to it... but still... it stands out too much for me...
I uses to get all the black pieces painted on my BMWs...
Anyway, just wondering if anyone did it already.
Like to see some picture first if possible....
And, should I get new pieces and get that painted?? Or, do they come off easily?
I painted my BMW moldings, but I like the contrast on the new GS. It's not like the BMW where it encircles the entire car. The little bit on the sides give it a nice contrast... The only one that bothers me is the one in the rear between the exhaust openings, but a nice add-on kit should clear that up easily...
I put blackout tape on the molding to see how it looked...
I have attached some pictures. Like you, I like the all blacked out look better than the chrome strips, but I just threw on the tape around the windows to see generally how it would look (I didn't tape the bottom of the door). I didn't end up blacking out the trim though, because I didn't think the tape worked well (i.e. wasn't smooth and would end up peeling off) and I haven't taken the next step to take the trim to a paint shop to be painted.
