Borla exhaust for IS350 coming! Your input counts!
Hello folks,
I need all your input here. From the folks that would consider an exhaust system, I have a few questions for you.
I'll be dropping of my new 2014 IS 350 rwd at Borla for R&D on a new system they are creating for us and this is your chance to voice your thoughts on how youd like it to turn out.
Would you prefer a catback or rear section system instead?
What type of tips would you prefer be used? (Factory tips or duals)?
What kind of price range would you be interested in? (Remember, this is Borla, not direct from china eBay).
Borla makes some of the nicest systems on the market. All high quality stainless, top quality welds, excellently thought out systems that last as long as factory. I think we are very lucky to have them taking on this project to make a new system for our cars. Their exhausts always sound the best IMHO with a deep aggressive sound that isn't too harsh while driving which is exactly what you want with a $50k luxury car.
The last thing any of us want is some cheap sounding ridiculously loud $30 eBay muffler on our car!
I for one am trusting that Borla will deliver like they always do a fantastic sounding exhaust that lasts as long as the factory system should, makes more power, and looks great!
So, post up what you'd like to see on this future system so they can hear what you have to say!

I had a Borla on my B5 S4 and loved the sound. I would love cat back or rear section only with factory or dual tips. I also prefer the stealth/stock look, so if they came with black mufflers that would be great or I would just paint them.

It might be because they are realistic about the quality Borla brings to the table and Megan is uhh, not even close. :-)
Thanks all. Keep the input coming as it will be used in the R&D of the new system.

Always interesting to read different perspectives.
I would completely agree with you if we were talking about flowmaster, but Borla I believe has established itself as a performance exhaust system manufacturer making systems for everything with a unique sound that nearly all thoroughly enjoy.
They make one of the nicest systems for the GTR, are a partner with the KPax WC volvo race team, with the turner Motorsports BMW team in grand am, and make one of the best exhausts on the market for the hugely popular Spec Miata class!
Lexus is one of those brands that isn't really synonymous with any aftermarket exhaust as of yet. We shall see if one becomes "the" exhaust.
I for one am putting my backing behind Borla because I have loved the sound they produce on every car they've ever made a system for including my tundra (which has a Borla as well)!
