How are you going to deal with the front license plate on F-sport? (Merged Threads)
My 2014 IS350 F-sport is the 1st car I've ever had where I feel that putting a license plate on the front of the car would ruin the look. I have no idea as to how to rig this so I'm satisfying California law while maintaining the aesthetics of the car.
It looks like I could wire the plat under the bumper to the mesh with 4 of those black twisty things that are used to bundle wires and cables that come with new electronics but I sure would like some advice from those of you with IS experience or with the new F-sport.
Thanks!

Just drill the holes. The holes arent even noticeable if you wanted to remove the plate. Using wire ties would look pretty ghetto. If your going to have the plate on anyway it will look better to use the factory plate mount.

Agreed the wire would look ghetto. They gave me a bracket that they said they can place under the mesh. I guess I just don't want to have a plate anywhere on the front but if I had to -- I'd want it as low and inconspicuous as possible. Thanks for feedback.

Thanks. You mean like this? Couldn't be easier but they don't have the IS listed as a product they support --

Personally I would go with those plastic wire ties because normal 20 20 vision would not be able to see them from even a car length. My issue with the tow hook is that it is off center which creates an un-uniform look.
buy one of those front brackets and zip tie the bracket to the lower air dam. then use screws to screw the license plate into the bracket.

The pursuit of F
I will probably leave it in the pre-defined default location (on-center) but I may consider tying it in the lower grill with the plastic ties as RXSF points out, but centered. I still got 9 weeks for my car to arrive - waiting to see if others will do that and how it looks
I personally don't like the asymmetrical side look.

For those that are considering side mounting the lisence plate I would stronly recomend velcro band. Then you can take the plate of if you want to.
However velcro band only comes in white and black..
Otherwise maybe an idea would be magnets? Cellphone magnets for car mounting are very strong if you use 6-8 of them...

That said it's not the prettiest, but at least you're not drilling the bumper and obviously this mod is reversable
