how did this happen??
I was driving home last night and noticed a slight vibration in my rear tire everytime i let of the gas... i kept driving home being i was only a minute or two away..
when i got home and inspected the tire i noticed that 3 of the 5 bolts were broken !
good thing nothing worse happened then vibrations..
how can i go about to fix this problem.. attached are pics

I don't know how it could happen. I guess there are many ways. Althrough I can see that some of the studs look like they are rusted in the part where they broke. Does that means they were like that for a while?
The fix is simple. Go to your Lexus or Toyota dealer and buy wheel studs. They're like 3 bucks a piece. Take the rotors off and hammer the broken ones out. Then take the new studs and put them into the hub. Viola (unless the procedure is different for the rear). I would also make sure all the other ones are in good condition.

That happend to me but my rim fell off on the highway.. rim hit the fender had to replace that.. luckily it was the rims that came on the car and not my Racing Harts (which I took off the day before). I would take it to a reputable shop and have all the wheel studs replaced just to be safe.

Inspect all four wheels, the last guy that work on your tires &*^*up. If you have access to air compressor and air jack hammer you can replace the stud with the rotors on the car. Use the jack hammer to push the studs out, change all studs, and put new one in. With right tools, it an easy job.

thanks for the quick replies... just a quick question
since im going to have to put new studs on, i want to know if i could put different size studs on... the reason being is that i have a set of rims that fit a different bolt size then the stock M12x1.5 bolt size for the lex...
can i take out the old studs and put a different size stud in that would fit the other set of rims ??

This is why I check my wheels after anyone uses an air gun on them. Years ago, I had my tires replaced and I was driving down a block slowly 2 days later when I heard noises coming from the rear wheel. It was missing 2 lug nuts.

dont forget if you have aftermarket wheels and/or spacers, make sure the offsets dont push the load too far out onto the studs... if this is the case get a set of extended wheel studs for your car
thats pretty scary!! sometimes it happens... like I've snapped one at the track once but that was only one... not 3... jesus... thats pretty scary
