Here are a couple shots of my FIGS heat shield. It's easy to install, stiff, keeps the intake cooler, and I don't hear any rattling.

Thanks Marsin. Hang in there. Remember to wait until you can afford what you want--it's a lot cheaper to do it right the first time.

I wanted something quiet, with OEM drivability, but grabbed better. I want it to be able to slip it in traffic, but hold on when I need the power. After doing some research and bugging people, I decided to pick up the IS300-spec Fidanza flywheel and Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. I'm also going to replace the OEM pilot and release (throwout) bearings. I took this pic a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to have it installed.

It sounds like you want a more aggressive setup, so you may want to look into something different. If you are putting down close to OEM power, this clutch should be enough for you. I know Teckis300 was using the centerforce DF in his GTE setup without any issues.

Thanks! My car went through some unintended off-roading last October, but I should have it back together soon. All I'm waiting on are refinished wheels, repaired front lip, and a visit to AeroTect for clear bra.

-New bumpers
-New under panel
-New Carson Rear
-New hood prop clip
-Cracked engine wire harness mounting bracket - Pending
-Repainted several panels and trunk lid spoiler
-Wheels: Repainted faces and lips chromed (cheaper than replacing outer barrels)
-Repair front lip
-NO suspension damage
-Alignment
-Now I have to get a "good" alignment
-Full interior detail (dirt was everywhere)
I'll post some after pics once everything is back together.

thanx rvalero I think I might be going with your set up in this case... I think we may have similar driving habits! Have you installed your shiny parts>?
Let me know how they feel! and what gains you have gotten from this set up and what negative from this set up!

I still haven't had the clutch installed. I'm hoping to have it done on the 19th, but I waiting for my installer to get some time.

New Carson rear--my old one fit a little better.

After waiting about a month, I finally have my wheels back.
  • Repainted
  • Straightened barrels
  • Chromed outer barrel
  • Polished inner barrel

EDIT: 12/18/09
I got my front lip repaired and had clear bra installed at Aerotect.

I also picked up a 3000K slim ballast HID kit from HIDeXtra for $69 shipped.
