While MB and BMW are both experience record declines in recent sales, Audi came close to setting another Oct. sales records in the US market and worldwide. BMW must be a bit upset about audi's success, especially when BMW is facing one of the steepest drop off in sales this quarter. This can only help us as consumers, it will force MB and BMW to up their game and product some new exciting products in the future.
Thank you very much, it seemed like I was the only one in this forum to think that.
I am sure you are not the only person who dislike BMW's interior. Even my wife, who dont care much about cars made a face when she went inside the X3 and saw the interior. I must admit, for a $45000 SUV, the X3's interior is one of the cheapest and ugliest I have ever seen. After the test drive, my wife comment was " Nice driving car, but the exterior was old looking and I could never pay that much for that interior "
When I was looking to buy a new car three years ago I certainly considered the BMW 335. The interior however was a huge turn off. I haven't seen a BMW interior that I thought was even half decent. I could not imagine myself sitting and having to look at that dash while in traffic.

The interior in the 5 and 7 series are pretty nice material, but unfortunently for BMW the Audi, Lexus and MB versions of mid and full size sedan have better interiors.

The materials are not the problem... it's the funeral home decor into which they are crafted.

For the most part, there haven’t been any major changes in the BMW's interior in a long time, except for the I-drive which is a disaster. BMW need some kind of signature design in the interior to stand out from the crowd, much like their kidney grill in their exterior. It’s a shame too, the material used in the 5 and 7 series are pretty good, but it’s just wasted in a dated design.
