Nav - Gen4 DVD update - backdoor no longer there
I know I've seen threads, but the search left me empty handed.
We have the stock Gen 4 map in our 2005 GX. I was going to update years ago, but they removed the backdoor for changing destinations on the fly (Volume, top left, bottom left, top left, bottom left - system - override).
Has anyone come up with a solution so I can update the DVD map? I did the DVD mod years ago (watch DVD on the front screen), so am comfortable disassembling and cutting wires...

It's more of a patch/workaround for the override. I have the same question though about whether it will I can use the old firmware with the new maps in the '05 GX I just picked up. It still has the original map disc and I really like the override feature. I would like to make a hybrid disc from my '08 IS nav disc and copy the '05 nav disc firmware into it.
