I've been reading this forum for a while and thanks to all of you, I got a lot info about the SC430......I am going to replace the RFT tires with regular one, in fact I just got the tires yesterday Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position 245/40/18, will install them today. I am planning to add a set of 20" tires in the future. I am still doing detailing on the car...almost done.
Congratulations on your new SC. I bought one last month and the first thing I did was read this forum and change the tires to Bridgestone Potenza's. I think you will be happy with the purchase. Last week I got rid of the pie pan rims. New tires and rims make it look so much better. Good luck.
Thank you everyone for a warm welcome. I am sure I will learn much more about my SC on this forum with full experts like you guys. I live in So. Cal. City of Upland.
If I want to buy 20" wheels for this car, what brand is the best and will last for a long time? and what sizes is the widest for front and rear without rubbing the fender?
I don't have pictures of the car now, but I'll take it tomorrow and post them here....
Also check out the picture forums and click on search above and type in SC430 20".
20" is the way to go...do a "staggered" set up where the rear are slightly wider than the front. Example: Front 20x8.5" and rear 20x9.5".
Wheel longevity has a lot to do with your driving habits and how careful you are and climate. Since you are in SoCal you don't have to worry about salt/snow/rust. Chrome is the way to go!
If you want to stay stock, Tourmalines and Spyders are 18" wheels with an OEM classic look but will set you apart from the other "dinner plates".
eBay has some awesome deals...do a search for 20" staggered lexus.
Our cars share a lot of lug bolt patterns with 350Z, G35/G37, Mustangs, etc. Offsets might be a little different but the same 5x114.3 lug pattern.
Thanks a lot scdroptop for the info, I've read the article about wheel fitment, very helpful also I'll check the picture forum and ebay for 20" staggered lexus......thanks again!
no prob...GL with the search, let us know how we can help. I am huge on "letting the people decide" for me...check out the poll feature! If it's down to a few wheels, we can help you decide with different inputs from all around.
