Perhaps the ignition is set-up race car style? First you turn the key, then you press the engine start (or vice versa). Many race cars have such a setup.

I like the exterior and suspect it is more impressive when seen in the metal, but I LOVE that interior. I think Lexus has really upped the game on this interior.
