Default Has you car ever NOT started?

So i been driving around with my one little mod of an air intake and a breather filter, then all of a sudden one day my car doesn't start. Eventually I get it started but some days I would have to turn the key like 15 times. At first I thought it was the alternator then the battery and even the starter. But after going to my local autoshop they told me everything was good. My car has 112,000 miles on it and i really dnt think any of that stuff should be acting up, given i take care of regular maintenance. My other car enthusiasts friends say its my fuel filter. The car isnt getting fuel so thats why its not starting right away. Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem or heard of this problem? Advice please

Nope. I did put sum concentrated fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and i didnt have any problem starting today. but lyk all the past 2 weeks i would turn the key n nothing wuld happen. there's no strain on the engine, it wouldnt crank. i jus hear this click sound wen i turn the key. when it did crank it would start right after but sometimes this wuld be lyk 15 turns later

If it doesn't crank at all, then your situation is more likely a starter problem. The solenoid for the starter is not getting enough voltage or the starter is stuck. But before jumping into conclusions, do check if your battery is in a good condition. And if it's ok, it's most likely the starter not good anymore. The starter is located underneath the intake manifold. There is a thread on how to DYI a starter in the "Maintenance" section I believe. GL.

Grrr, The dam starter. Mine has been "bad" for a few months. I've just dealt with it for a few months. Now it's a big problem. I have a new starter (along with all necessary gaskets) in my garage just waiting.

Look into it.

Yup the starter, mine does it once in a while, its bad or worn out contacts within the solenoid they sell replacement parts if you attempt to fix it yourself and there is a diy somewhere in here.

It's actually a pretty easy procedure. The thing I notice people do not do is properly align the contacts when tightening them. The FSM states (and shows) a block of wood to do this. I'll check on one of my usb HDs for it and post it for all to see.

To be more specific, it's in the fuel tank. So is the fuel pressure regulator. If you do change it, make sure you change the filter and the strainer. It's the white sock looking think on the pickup. Also, replace the o-rings. You NEED then, but don't reuse the old ones.

Sounds like the starter. Happened to me in November last year. I'd have to crank it a dozen times for it to even start. This is a hefty job on your wallet... so i'd find a place that'll do it for CHEAP...
