2008 GX-470 26k miles, DVD, NAV, 3rd Row Seat, Mark Levinson audio system, Silver Ext, Grey Int for $40,000. Please let me know as this would be my first Lexus.
A redesign for the GX 470 is coming out in a few months, and usually when that happens the prices on the older version drops significantly. If you're not in a hurry, you might want to consider waiting for a few months before making the purchase.
Has anyone ever purchased a used GX 470? I'm looking at buying a 2006 GX and all the prices I'm seeing are in the $33-37,000 range. KBB and Consumer reports have the purchase price closer to $30K.
If you've purchased a used GX, any info on actual price paid would be extremely helpful.
Since I've seen it with my own eyes, very clean 06 GX470 are selling for 30-32K in the Auctions (wholesale). I don't think the KBB price reflects the current trent in the used car market
I bought this 2004 for 18K with 72000 miles. Its the fully loaded one with NAV and such.
I also heard that these GX's are going up in price because manufacturers are not making as many SUV's, so the used market for premium vehicles such as ours are becoming a sought after item.

$40K is too high in my opinion. This is a 2 year-old vehicle (with 2 year's worth of mileage) from a model year standpoint. I think a price in the low-to-mid $30 range would be reasonable.
That's a reasonable range depending on the asking price. However, some dealers will deeply discount a used car if it's been on their lot for a while so it would be unreasonable to expect $3K off of a price that is clearly well below every other GX that you are looking at. Remember the market sets the price regardless of what the dealer is asking or what Consumer Reports says.
There is a big mark-up on used vehicles and it's a buyers market, so swing for the fences! If a dealer wants to move their inventory they will negotiate and be sure to buy at the end of the month they have goals to meet so they are more likely to let a vehicle go for far less then they would have at the start of the month esp if it's old inventory.
Also of note:
The best time to buy a used vehicle is the 2 weeks before Christmas.
Nobody is spending money on cars.. too busy shopping for gifts.
What is not realized is that the car dealer has to buy presents first.
Having cash is the best deal. Last year, I bought a 1995 Corolla for my daughter on Dec 13th, they were asking 3000.00 for it.
I had cash and drove it off the lot for 1700.

Manheim price for 2008 with 28 K miles is $38,250. You be the judge.

I picked up my GX almost 1 yr ago it was a 2006 CPO with Navi and Entertainment pkg. The GX had 23K on it, and the owner was the Tech at the Lexus dealership. I think, at the time I paid 32K for it, which I felt was a very good deal. This also came with the 3 yr warranty.
I looked at a few 2004 GX's and they were going for 30K at the time. My first choice was white, but took the black color to get the newer model.
