Exclamation Lexus HS 250h...revealed Jan. 11

Does anyone have information as to what this car really is in size spec's etc.
I cannot find anything at all on this Hybrid. From a google search one dealer has taken deposits already but the article has been removed. Will this be an 2009 or what???

You will find out in January at the NAIAS......I doubt it will be called a 250h as it will more than likely use a 2.5 V-6 or the new 2.7 I-4 with battery power. Lexus then will call it a 300 or 320 saying it makes power equivalent to that size petrol engine.

Seems more likely to me that it would have the new 2.4L I-4. It would be more efficient and with electric motors it doesnt need the extra torque that the 2.7L delievers over the 2.5L. However, perhaps the 2.5L V6 would be the best choice as it is direct injected. Call it the HS320h. Though a 4 cylinder would be lighter. Ok, enough of my speculation.

Looking forward to it...just wondering though, does anyone think "HSh" is a bit redundant? Hybrid Sedan hybrid?

there is no new 2.4l .

2.5l AR is replacement for 2.4l AZ engine....

It should have similar power to 2.5 V6 engine, so 200-220hp.

If indeed it will be based on Prius, it will be pretty quick vehicle (sub 8 sec 0-60)... I thought our insider said it looked a lot like ES/Prius mix, so it might be a bit bigger...

You do realize that there is a LS600hL right? Not to mention the GS450h and RX400h.

I am sure it's missing an "I" somewhere in there.

"hey what do you drive?"

"I drive a 250S#iT"

LOL

Arrow Lexus HS 250h...revealed Jan. 11

Lexus continues to keep their showroom busy year after year and 2009 is no exception. This is a HUGE investment for Lexus and another big risk! A Prius based, I-4, small higher fuel economy, lower emissions car. Amazingly, it could be this car, not the LSh, GSh or RXh that lets the world know how serious and leading Lexus are with hybrids!! While redundant, the name should be HS (Hybrid Sedan) 250h (like SC is Sports Coupe).

Okay, now gas has gone down considerably here but this will be a world car, thus it is anticipated to be a big seller in Europe and give Lexus a sales lift there. The tidy dimensions should help sales in Asia as well.

Not sure of the engine size yet but Lexus hybrids names are after engines IF they were gasoline early. So HS 250 throws me off.

It seems it will be the first Lexus I-4 gas engine but of course coupled with batteries. The emphasis will be more on fuel economy, not sport like other "h" models. Thus expect at least an incredible (at least)30MPG highway AND city. Mind you the Camry hybrid makes an amazing 35MPG City and highway!!!

It also seems while this is based on the Prius, don't expect a Prius shape. Instead, it will be a traditional 4 door sedan. It will also feature the new NAV and control interface and features the new RX 450h will have.

Will LEDs be optional or standard for the headlights? Nav screen should pop out. Expect trunk room to continue to improve, large windows (against the new Lexus trend of small windows) and a tall car for good passenger room.

Pricing? Where will it fit?

What about power? My guess is around 220-230hp.

Is this a new entry level model BELOW the IS 250? Or is this the third Lexus in the 30-45k range with the IS and ES?

What are sales projections?

Will Lexus had made the ultimate Point A to B commuter luxury car? We shall see soon!
