what is the color output like on the 8k bulb on 2IS? I've bought a pair off ebay and it came out pinkish purple. Is it caused by the projector? I would think it would come out blue.

Its a stronger blue than the 6000K I'm including a shot of my ES350 with a set of 6000K D4S

drewefx

The "K" rating, or Kelvin rating simply indicates the color output of the light on the Kelvin color remperature scale.

stock HID is usually rated around 4100-4300K. This thread is for low beam and 6000K and 8000K stands for different temperature= different color output. In another words, 6000K would be crystal white maybe with a tint of blue and 8000K would be crystal blue or whatever you call it.

Nothing really. They both look the same but specifically D4S is for projector lens type headlamps. D4C is universal which can be used in both D4R and D4S. Just incase, D4R is for reflector type headlamps.
