They will work as 7440 standard sockets for front turn signals but you can also do the 7443 socket mod and have them be drl/turn signal mode.

I have one extra DRL module since I only used one along with a relay. I'll throw it in if you purchase one of the two items below for $5.

what is the 7443 to 7440 socket mod that you speak of?

The 7443 socket is one that allows for the switchback option for this type of bulb. it pretty much fits the same opening but you'll have to purchase the sockets and splice into the appropriate wires (turn signal, ground, daytime running Lights) I did this for all four of the turn signal bulbs. Now I have the ability to use the 7440 bulb (standard on/off bulb or single filament bulb) or the 7443 bulb.

If you look at the picture in my sig, you can see that the lights for the turn signals are white and lit along with the standard drl, but when I turn on the turn-signal, the white switches to amber.
