Default DRL Help

Hey i just put in those 1w led bulbs to replace the oem DRL now they wont turn on. I promised i searched the forums and i found some usefull stuff that didnt work for me.

I found in one other thread to check for the fuse,i did i checked the one that said DRL#1 and DRL#2 they both was good.

When i hit the high beams they work so its not the bulbs.

Any help would be nice. Thank you in advance.

LEDs won't turn on if you have the polarity reversed.. did you try putting them in both ways?

Like each LED has 2 little wires coming out of it. If it's in backwards it won't turn on. Just pull out the LED, rotate it 180 and put it back in. Hopefully that's all that's wrong.

Regular bulbs work in either orientation.

I think you're talking about the parking lights if they're those little bulbs. DRL are your highbeam bulbs running at lower power. Those little parking lights will not turn on until you have your light switched to either parking light or low beam.

As mentioned, LED bulbs have polarities.

Those 1 watt led DRL (high beam) bulbs don't seem to light up as DRL's on our cars. They will work if you hit the high beams, but not as a DRL. As for why I can't tell you b/c I've tried 2 sets thinking one was broken, but got the same result.

wasnt there a psot that you could do a relay to have them on 100% all the time. I tried to search DIY DRL but cant find it.

Yeah they work when high beam is on but no go for just DRL.

And even if i get the bluish bulbs do they still look yellow?

• You can jump a relay connector to have your 50% power Highbeams OFF all the time.

• Like everyone else said the little 1W push in bulbs ARE NOT your DRLs they are 'city lights' which illuminate the High Beam housing/lense at night.

• Bluish bulbs will still look yellow becuase the DRLs run at half power.

My city lights does not come on at all even at night when I have my low beams on. During the day the high beams work as DRL's at half power but I never got to see the 1w bulb light up.

I just had the same thing happen, I changed the City lights to LED's and now they do not work. I put the old bulbs back in and they do not work either. The fuses are good. Any ideas?

Nevermind,

It was the polarity. I rotated the bulbs 180 degrees and they worked.

The reason they only work one way is because they are LED (Light Emitting Diode). Just like basic diodes they allow current to flow one way but not the other. So with the bulb the wrong way they wont light up, and when you flip it 180 degrees they work. The wonders of electronics. LOL

you need a DLR MODULE. http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/D...97704-1-3.html but with the module you get 50% power.just run a switch direct to the battery 100% power
