I used my existing V1 wiring, pretty much just removed the V1 down from it's place on the windshield and put up the 9500i. This is only temporary for me, the 9500i is for the Motorcycle....maybe. I am hoping the new and improved V1 comes out one day.
Ken, How many wires are going through your cable that are hooked up. I am trying to figure this thing out. It sucks, I spent the time to solder it, and no nothing.
^^remember it's the V1 cable, not the Passport cable. And I did this installation way last year using the kick panel fuse box (and two wires only) not using the rearview mirror.
DJ Rando: Read my post. I did my hardwire with the escort 8500 x50. I had to go back after i noticed that the original post of this was backwards for our escorts.
" Also, those with an escort 8500 x50. Red goes to blue and green goes to orange." <-- this should be the same for you
I did the soldering to what you had posted. I am thinking I might switch up the two and see if that works since it is a different model. But when I wired it, I looked several times to make sure I did it the way you posted

YES YES YES!!!!!
I just reversed the wire combo. I put red to orange, and green to blue. And perfecto!!! SO any of you out there wiring up a escort to the mirror...follow that.
it's for any car. It's pretty much a really really expensive piece of aluminum, but hey he's the ONLY person that makes one. It's like 45 bucks, but hey I like it mounted there. Perfect height and what not. I had to use double sided tape at the bottom of my rearview to kind of make it not vibrate so much. Anyways we might be getting off topic.
Glad you got all wired up correctly. I think it's odd that your wiring was differen then the 8500. oh well.
