Help! 20” Wheel width/offset advice GS350AWD
I’ve looked at just about every wheel post in this 3rd Gen GS forum but am still confused when it comes to what wheel width and offset to go with. It seems like all 20” wheels are custom and are build to order so I want to be completely sure my specs are inline before ordering a set of wheels.
The car just hit 1k mikes and I have already installed the Tanabe NF springs and do not plan to go any lower then that. I also do not plan on upgrading my brakes in the future.
My goal is to get the widest wheel I can fit with the most aggressive offset I can. I do know that I may have to either roll or cut the inner fenders in order to not rub…..that’s not a problem. I want to be aggressive without rubbing.
I see that many GS owners have gone with 20x8.5 in the front and 20x10 in the rear. Is it possible with little to no inner fender mods to go beyond that size? I was thinking a 20x9 or 9.5 in the front and a 20x10.5 or an 11 in the rear. What are my options? It would be great to get some feedback before dropping $4k on custom wheels. Thanks!

I'm a little conservative and don't believe in cutting on a 50K+ car for a little extra bling. I have 19x8.5 all around and I can see 9.5 or 10 would be okay. Plus you have your car lowered. I'm pretty sure with 20x10.5 you would have to make some kind of fender modding to make that work. Unless you use a really skinny rubber band tire. If that's okay with you, that's fine....but I wouldn't do it...especially since we ride passengers in the back seat. You should be able to get 10.5 under there as long as you're willing to cut and pull. Heck, I saw a kid with 22's on his GS. He told me he cut the thing to pieces to make it work. He gave me the the perfect reply. He said, I'm a kid...I wouldn't do it if I was a grown man like you.

Other then a little fender mods what do you think about running x9.5 in the front and x10.5 in the rear? And what offset should I be running? Do most people find the offset by trail and error?

Why do you want 9.5 in the front. Someone with more mechanical experience needs to comment but I don't think that's wise. I guess you could do it but why? This is a Lexus, not a chevy monte carlo. It can look really good and you can push the envelope but this type of car demands class and care imo. With that size up front, I'd be concerned how much wear and tear I'd be putting on the power steering pump. It wasn't designed to handle the stress and weight you're planning. I don't know...I'm out of this conversation. Good luck.

the offsets should all be the same. the only thing you should be worried about is tire sizing. from what ive seen, its best to keep the overall diameter as close as possible for the AWD models

What wheels are you purchasing and is the shop handling the specifications or are you doing it yourself?
So if I go staggered, and be sure to keep the overall diameter w/tires the same I will not screw up my AWD drivetrain?

I'm still trying to decide between the iForged or Work wheels. I know I want to go with a 20" wheel. I'n just not sure when it comes to the width/offset. I want to be aggressive, but not too aggressive where I get some frequent rubbing.
