Default I am seriously thinking about selling my 06 GS300 AWD

I have 16K on the clock. No real issues or problems with the car, but I don't like how the transmission shifts at low speeds, my car has always tracked/drifted on the highway to a point where it doesn't feel stable at high speeds (dealer checked it out and said it was normal). I have creeks and ratles. I hate the sound of the engine when at idle (sounds like a lawn mower), power is so-so, and I really miss the german engineering and feeling my Audi gave me when driving it.

On the plus side, the quality of the car has been good so far, the car has great technology built in, it looks really nice, and was good in the snow.

I am thinking about selling her and buying an newer Audi A6.......but I am on the fence with this decision...uggghh!!.

Life is short...drive a car you're passionate about.

The new A6 is nice, they styling has really grown on me. A good friend of mine is considering picking one up. Great lease deals are available on the V6 models (at least at the Pasadena dealership we were at).

I have an `05.5 A4 2.0T quattro as my "daily driver" and I simply love the car. [Although for the last 2 days here the weather has been so nice that I've been driving my `04 SC430 to work.] When I purchased my A4 I had the dealer install a clear bra and because they needed to keep the car for a few days they gave me an `05 A6 to drive. I am very much a Lexus person, but I have to admit that the A6 impressed me while I had it. As I recall, the radio controls on the A6 seemed more complex than I was used to. The new A6 is very different than previous versions of this car (I was an Audi person before I switched to Lexus in 1995). I tested an A6 in 1999 when I bought a GS300. I recall that although they were identically priced, the A6 seemed less solid and much cheaper in comparison to the GS. However, this is no longer the case.

It's your money, so definitely go with your gut on this one. Good luck!

i agree, get what you like. the A6 is a really nice car, and the redesign is 100x better than the old one. and it feels very solid too.

i had an a6 as a loaner when my s4 went in for service and i wasn't really feeling that car. it's a really heavy car and it was too big for me. to each his own i guess.

I felt the same way after I bought mine. I really wanted the Infiniti M, and at times I wish I would've bought it instead of the GS, it's just more sporty and drives better. Anyways, for now, IIearned to like the car more after modifying it but I am not sure how long I will keep it for.

I was seriously considering the A6 when I was shopping. For me, I wanted a powerful car, and I drove the A6 4.2 Quattro. It drove beautifully, felt really solid, and I really liked the car. As Car and Driver's comparo noted, "We hardly think you would ever regret buying one". The issue for me came down to reliability. I just couldn't get comfortable with it, as I am planning to keep the car for probably 10 years.

I settled on the GS430, and have been very happy. I think if I were to get the GS300, I would not have been. Not enough power for what I want to do in the car.

I can't get over the interior of the Audi A6. The exterior isn't bad looking ( especially the RS6 ).

I am a Lexus and BMW Owner. I love the new GEN GS and the A6, however if you want AWD and still some fun, you have go get the new 2006-2007 530xi. Even without the sport package (which I should have gotten), this is still a great & fun car to drive. Solid, quick (always could use more power), however doesn't have all the interior luxuries that the GS has, but you can forgo that because it's so damn fun to drive. People will try to scare you about BMW's reliability. Sure it's not as good as Lexus, but it's decent and you are still covered for full maintenance also for 4 years/50K miles.
