Default How do you keep your rotors lookin good?

I recently put on all new OEM size Rotora slotted rotors. They look a million times better than my old rusted stock ones but right next to the rotor hat where the pads don't touch there is rust on the rotor starting to build up. Probably .50"-.75" wide ring. Do you guys clean that up some how or just live with it???

I have the Rotora's also and mine do they same thing. Ive been meaning to get a small bit of sandpaper and some black caliper paint to fix it. I plan on lightly sanding down the spot because mine is a little darker than yours since Ive had it for a while. Then, spraying the caliper paint into the cap and paint the ring black so it doesnt happen again. gl

Spray the hats with high heat clear when new.

Basically the pad doesnt completely cover the unpainted section of the rotor. Thus, causing a small 1/2 inch ring around the hat to rust because the pad doesnt scrape it off when you brake.

blacksc400 : i thought it was bad to let the brake pads take off the rest of the paint because the paint will get crusted onto the pad.. ? did that not happen with you?

I don't know what some of you guys are doing but I can't figure it out. All the close up pics of a lot of members brake setups look really clean. You know when you wash your car you'll get light surface rust on your rotors, but once you apply the brake it all gets removed except where the pads don't touch. Does anyone think there is some type of spray cleaner or something to remove that light surface rust??? Maybe painting that area of the rotor is the only cure??

Carson took care of me on my Rotora's. I think it was$89 each for the fronts and like $119 for the rears. Although I could be wrong. It was about $475 for all four rotors and Axxis Deluxe pads. If I remember right I think they raised their prices about a month after I bought mine. Still the cheapest place around though. Support the people that support us.

Yes, the prices of the Rotora rotors just went up. Not sure on fronts, I got the TT slotted fronts from Carson for 230 I think about 2 months ago. I called Carson today to get the slotted rears to match and they went up from 85 to 99 each. When I talked to Luis I told him that the rears are 169 FOR BOTH on Rotoras website and he said he couldnt even get em that cheap. Needless to say I ordered from Rotora and they havent updated there webpage with the new prices so they honored it. Only save a little but every bit counts.... like a tank of gas!
