The damn seatbelt alarms on my IS250 has gone away now
I got the STUPID DRL turned off yesterday and today I got the DAMN seatbelt alarms off. lol
My car is much much........ better now
did the dealer do this for you? I went in for my 5k service for my GS and they wouldnt due to legality reasons
Off-topic, but it's a C-Best option so you'll have to take it to a Lexus dealership to change the setting. If they claim they don't know how to do it, print this out and give it to them:
Wow, some usefull information. I can't wait to try this out.
At first I thought this was a silly post, until I took my dog to the vet. The alarm kept going off, so I had to pull over and buckle the seatbelt behind her. Then she kept getting all tangled up with the belt. I guess the safety gurus at Lexus didn't think about dogs.
Interesting... so the secret sequence for the Matrix does work for the IS250 too eh. Now if only we can have some of our Japanese fellows find the sequence for disabling VDIM on one of the JDM cars such as the Crown and Mark X which have been around much longer than the GS430 many IS350 owners here will be happy too.
I am glad that the seat belt alarms are so annoying. I hate when my girlfriend doesnt wear her seatbelt.
Though, if you do find the instructions please post them. I dont have an IS350 yet
Yeah, my wife has a habit of doing that. She gets in the car and doesn't put her seatbelt on right away. I'm glad it's there to nag her, that way I don't have to do it.
1. turn the key to the ON position which means pressing the start button twice on the new IS since it doesn't has the key, foot off the brake
2. Press the trip reset button couple of times until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B)
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position again press the start button twice. when the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7.and the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off.
Has anyone been able to do the seatbelt hack on 07 IS350 models? I've tried a bunch of times and I just can't seem to get it to work. If anyone else has done it, then I must be doing it wrong or something...
