Wow--very cool...although I think the previous R&T rendering was a bit better. This LS looks like a cross between the new IS (good) and BMW (well...) Thanks for the article!

Not exactly crazy about that back end, but I would still drive that!! I wonder what the Base is?
Finally a glimpse of what is coming. I can live with that! Especially in a long wheel based version, that thing will look great. I think that we have to remember that the average LS buyer in the US is 62 years old, and if Lexus went completely over board with a too aggressive design, that it might scare off some of those buyers.
Rumors are the might unveil this thing in Tokyo in October, right? I can't wait. Once we see what it will really look like, I'll be slapping down my deposit. This car will be THE car in 2006, no doubt!
Not too bad, I wish it'll be sleeker & less boxy still, rendering from these mags are usually not that accurate . . . specs. sound really good if true
nah i think that's more like a PS. i think the real car will be a lot nicer though i notice the new grille design and i don't really like it as much as the current one
I don't believe any of the s h i t e drawings that come from Road and Track Magazine. They look too much like comic drawings. See the pic of what they thought the Cadillac STS was going to look like. As a former 1998 Cadillac STS owner, I prayed it would look like this but was disappointed when the real version came out.

Seems like the new Lexus sedans are getting grilles with verticle slats ala new IS & GS, do you prefer horizontal ? You can always fix that later if you don't like it

I knew that wasn't going to be right, because they were in the process of designing the new DTS. It looked just like the CTS only bigger. So I knew the STS would closely resemble the CTS and the new DTS no matter what fake image they put out.
Thanks for the article! However I don't think the LS will look like that at all. Looks like one of their artists sketched his thoughts based on the GS/IS and L-finesse.
The LS HAS to have horizontal slants on the grill, its a LS trademark. The wheels are taken from the LF-A. I can see the lower grill having 3 slots, or at least 2 side slots, like the revised SC/and the IS/GS.
That car is nice but the artists proportions are all wrong.
The did get the fact the new LS grill and clearly the L badge will continue to grow.

I don't know if it's really a LS trademark, the original LS in 1989 does not have horizontal slats on the grill, only the more recent ones, so I don't think they necessarily have to stick to the horizontal slats for the new one . . .
I like the horizontal slats though...yes, it was more like a cross-hatch design, but I think keeping the horizontal bars for the ES and LS would be nice.
