How-To Tuesday: Spoiling Your Lexus
If your Lexus doesn’t look sporty enough to you, there’s one sure-fire way to transform your car into something more rocket-like: a rear or roof spoiler.
There are plenty of rear and roof spoiler options out there, but the two main ones are the IS-F rear spoiler and the WALD. While they install very similarly, today’s How-To Tuesday article focuses on the IS-F rear spoiler, for the second-generation Lexus IS.
The job shouldn’t take much more than an hour of your time, is relatively easy, and since you won’t be doing any drilling, it doesn’t take any special tools other than a Dremel. And best yet, doing the job yourself should save you a couple hundred bucks over the pro cost.
Beyond that, just follow the article’s six easy steps: clean the area where you’ll place the spoiler; prep the backside of the spoiler; clean the backside of the spoiler and replace the sponge washers; fit the spoiler to the trunk; re-clean and add double-sided mounting tape; then re-test the fitment and mount the spoiler onto your trunk. And just rinse and repeat to add a roof spoiler.
The article goes into far greater detail, so check it out and get started. Then soon enough, you’ll be well on your way to driving a much sportier IS.
