Successor to LFA Confirmed: LFB Roadster
With the final production Lexus LFA 500 rolling off the Motomachi Plant in December, several talks have been circulating about a topless version of the Lexus LFA super car. Lexus teased us with the LFA Roadster Concept at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and recently a topless LFA Spyder has surfaced with an exclusive test drive by Jay Leno.
There’s been uncertainty if LFA’s carbon fiber monocoque could support the loss of a formal room. Rigorous hours of field testing was conducted at TMC’s Higashi Fuji Test track in Northern Japan and and the Toyota Proving Grounds outside of Phoenix, AZ. A modified prototype LFA was used, the same Whitest White LFA we’ve seen in recent months. Our direct sources have confirmed that Chief Engineer Tanahashi has certified the LFA chassis can be built without a roof and production of this vehicle is imminent. A future Lexus LFA Roadster is coming. Say hello to LFB, Lexus Future Bespoke.
