First Lexus Assembly Line in US Under Construction
The official construction for the future assembly line of the first U.S produced Lexus has begun. With their first steel column now in place, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. begins the first milestone in what will be a long line of U.S localized manufacturing from Lexus.
This news was prompted by last April’s announcement to domesticate the production of the bread and butter ES 350 which has never been assembled outside Japan.
This factory sets in motion a gradual plan to generate 750 new jobs in the Bluegrass state – with $360 million invested in the Kentucky plant, the facility will be noted as the company’s largest and most experienced manufacturing operation in North America.
