Lexus IS Nominated for 2014 World Car of the Year Award
One look at the World Car of the Year Award page and you know they’re not messing around. (Except for maybe the guy in the jeans/jacket combo. He seems to be a pretty laid back guy.)
Black suits and ties all around, large golden trophies, indicative of the multi-national prestige from such a title, it’s the United Nations meets the Golden Globes meets Car and Driver (though Top Gear would be infinitely entertaining as well).
What were we talking about again? Right, the Lexus IS.
In any case, it is with a great dose of Club Lexus pride that we report the inclusion of the Lexus IS as a nominee for the 2014 World Car of the Year award. The freshly refreshed sports sedan sits on the chopping block alongside a mixed bag of 12 other automotive rivals, in various categories of size, price, and utility.

Personal feelings are that it’ll be tough for our little four door sport luxury to take it the globes home. Even with a completely revamped look and drive, the age of the engine specs and technology are a little behind the innovations of some of its competitors, but regardless, we’ll be cheering it along.
Just anything but the BMW i3. Please.
