How-To Tuesday: Installing LED Turn Signal Mirrors
Are you the proud owner of a Lexus IS, ES, GS, LS, or RX between the model years of 2005 and 2013? Have you been loving your car, but feeling like it could use a little face-lift? Perhaps you’ve been coveting thy neighbor’s car mirrors that are so sexily fixed with LED turn signals?
If that’s the case, then today’s your lucky Tuesday, because our How-To Tuesday article is all about installing new JDM LED turn signal mirrors. And we’re not talking about a mechanic installing these bad boys, we’re talking about you. So in a way, this isn’t just How-To Tuesday, this is also Empowerment Tuesday. And while that’s far less alliterative, it’s way more important sounding, don’t you think?
Either way, today is a great day, because today’s article (and the corresponding video below) is not just going to empower you with DIY mirror-changing knowledge, it’s also going to save you money, as this upgrade would cost you at least $500 or more at the mechanic, just for the labor. It is a moderately difficult mod though, which requires you to remove “many” parts including the door panels, which can be tricky.
Still, the whole operation should only take you a few hours. And in the end, you’ll be able to look at your reflection in that sweet new LED-backed mirror, and you’ll be able to say to yourself, “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, I can change out my own darn mirrors.”
