No Worries Mate, Lexus ES Returns Down Under!
It’s official, the sixth generation Lexus Executive Sedan returns to the Australian market after a seven-year vacation down under. The absence of a fifth generation ES has increased demand of this very popular front engine, front drive Lexus and current ES owners are anxious for a new one.
“This all-new ES is not only redesigned, re-engineered and with more power; it returns to Australia with a loyal customer base and in a form that will attract new customers to the Lexus family.” says Lexus Australia Chief Exeutive Sean Hanley.
Australians will rejoice they will have two ES models to choose from. The ES 350 powered by the 3.5L 2GR-FE V6 and 6 speed auto transmission and the first ES 300h powered by a 2.5L 2AR-FXE Atkinson Cycle 4 cylinder with Lexus Synergy Drive and an ultra smooth continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The ES will arrive exclusively from TMC’s Kyushu plant and will be the first sixth generation ES that will be offered in a right hand drive configuration. Hopefully there will be more countries to follow. Expect the ES to arrive in Australian Lexus dealers in the fourth quarter of 2013.
