9 Years of Lexus F Gives Us Plenty to Celebrate
Since 2007, when Lexus first introduced the all-new IS F luxury sports sedan at the Fuji Speedway, the F moniker has come to mean a lot in the world of high-performance vehicles.
Though it seems to have happened overnight, F’s ascendance has been an incremental one, marked by various high points along the road. In a recent blog post, Lexus highlighted nine F milestones over the last nine years.
The list jumps around a bit, starting with an entry from this year, when Gazoo Racing’s Lexus RC F #36 car nabbed a first place finish in the SP-PRO class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, which was good enough for 24th place overall.
Other highlights include the Lexus Festival of F, a special two-day Lexus fest at London’s Canary Wharf; Polish journalist Michał Sztorc’s RC F journey along one of the most glorious roads in the world, Ceaușescu’s Folly in the mountains of Romania; and when an LFA met a Toyota 200GT at the Japanese Nostalgic Car show and became perhaps the most picturesque duo ever photographed.
Each entry is accompanied by a thorough explanation as to its importance for the development of Lexus F, and well worth the read for any Lexus fan. So check it out, then let us know what your favorite F moment has been over the last nine years.
