2016 Lexus GS F Going Hill Climbing for First Public Drive
The 2016 Lexus GS F is having a European coming out party!
That’s right, the new high performance version of the brand’s GS sedan is set to make its real-life European debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, June 26-28. So get your tickets booked.
The GS F and its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 aren’t just going to introduce themselves to Europe like some pirouetting debutante. Oh no, the GS F is taking on Goodwood’s infamous hillclimb course.
Though that might be a high altitude order, Lexus has been testing the car on the most treacherous of tracks: the Nürburgring Nordschleife. And they’re not just sending a ready and able ride, but also a surefire driver: Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Mike Conway.
Lexus first debuted the GS F back in January, at the Detroit auto show. And she was first displayed on European soil at the Geneva show in the spring. This marks the first time she’ll be driven in public, though. Besides the GS F, Lexus’s LFA supercar and Frey Racing’s VLN endurance series RC F GT3 competition car will both be making appearances at the festival.
We’re definitely looking forward to the big hillclimb demo. But we can think of a few folks who aren’t, like anyone in charge of selling the Audi S6, the BMW M5, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, or the Cadillac CTS-V. Cause the 2016 GS F isn’t stopping after it takes this hill.
