Tuner Evo Hits the Windy City for 2019
If you dig not only cars but the culture that surrounds them, you'll certainly want to mark one of Tuner Evolutions' stops on your calendar.
All About Culture
Some car shows are all about cars, others are all about the culture of cars, the people that own them, and just plain hanging out. Tuner Evolution, for one, certainly falls in the latter category. Super Street discovered that fact in person when they recently attended the popular event's stop in the Chicago area.

Successful Formula
Tuner Evolution isn't shy about this fact, either. They brand themselves as an "automotive lifestyle event," one that provides a venue for like-minded enthusiasts to meet up and network with each other. Over the years, that's proven to be a rather successful formula.

Quick Expansion
What started out as one singular show has quickly expanded to multiple events in multiple major cities and other areas. As of right now, that includes Miami, Puerto Rico, Chicago, SoCal, Charlotte, Portland, and Philadelphia. The Windy City is where SS experienced what the writer calls "culture shock."

More Than a Show
That's because Tuner Evo isn't just another car show. There are some extremely nice builds on display, of course. But there's also a lot more going on around them. Things like live music and even a breakdancing contest, for starters.

Top Notch Builds
The vehicles on display are top-notch, however, and Chicago was ripe with a slew of amazing Hondas and S2000s. Altogether, over 40 classes competed against each other in just about every kind of category. And professional judges handed out trophies for the best-of-the-best once the dust settled.

Inside and Out
Since Chicago weather is extremely unpredictable, Tuner Evo took place both indoors and outside at the Schaumburg Convention Center. Luckily, the weather turned out perfect, so attendees could take in the entire thing, not just the many vendors and show cars inside the large building.

Massive Crowds
While attendees walked around inside and scoped out all this cool stuff, a host of activities were taking place on stage. According to Super Street, crowds were massive to the point where it was difficult to take pictures at some points. In fact, they shot most of their photos while the crowds were surrounding the stage during a performance.

Do It for the Youths
And concerts and dance contests weren't the only eyes (and ears?) candy in addition to the cars. There was also a BMX demo, RC drift competition, and a handful of other exciting events. It might seem like a lot, but these are things that the younger generation seems to flock to.

Traditional Elements
Of course, there are some traditional elements to Tuner Evo as well. And we don't mean just the cars, either. There were a host of vendors on display, offering up their wares and services as well. That means loads of parts, apparel, and plenty of product giveaways, too.

Pure Experience
It might be a little different from your average car show, but Tuner Evo is clearly hitting the mark with a lot of people. It also might feel a little trendy at times, but there's a method to that madness. And if nothing else, you can't deny that it offers up an experience unlike any other.
