For years the masses cried out for a creation from Lexus that was aimed squarely at the performance crowd and the automaker took it to heart. In late 2008 the brand introduced the first in the F series and the rest is history.

1. RC 350 F Sport

If you're looking for performance in an entry level Lexus, then look no further than this car. The RC with the F Sport package will give the car a more focused air about it with some aero additions, a suspension system that has been tweaked, and some other visual upgrades to let everyone know that this isn't the run of the mill version. The 350 trim level will give the car a respective 306 horsepower which is a nice number for someone who is a speed virgin; as is not fast enough to get anyone into too much trouble.

2. LS 460

When people think of Lexus they usually think about the things that this car represents: comfy, industry first tech, and a stately demeanor. As the top dog of the brand, the 460 rocks a 4.6-liter V8 under the hood that kicks out 386 horsepower. The 460 can make the run to sixty in just 5.4 seconds which is impressive for a car of its proportions. It's just as nice as a 7 Series BMW but doesn't come with all the ostentatiousness that the Bavarian car does.

3.2012 IS F

After being absent from the small sedan sport segment Lexus decided to bring the IS F to market in order to take the fight directly to the Mercedes C63 and BMW M3. Priced at $60,000, the IS F went on to become the marker for all Japanese sport sedans to aim at. This fast flyer has a 0-60 time of just 4.6 seconds from a standing start courtesy of the V8 under the bonnet that put it above anything else from the automaker until the LFA appeared. Much of the development of this car took place at famous racetracks all over the world including Fuji Speedway.

4. GS F

The GS F sport sedan is unquestionably one of the best performance saloons that you can buy today. There's a custom tuned SACHS suspension, beefy brakes, and a 5.0-liter V8 that that spits right in the direction of the E92 M3 with 467 disrespectful horsepower. The engine in this car is shared with the RC F coupe, along with the transmission and rear wheel drive. Sporty 19-inch wheels stand in front of large 15-inch rotors hugged by six-piston calipers to bring the car back to legal speeds when necessary.

5. LC 500

The newcomer to the Lexus brand, the coupe with LFA DNA is a hot little number that pushes everything an uninformed person's notion of the automaker right out the window. The brawny V8 in this car generates 471 stampeding horsepower and 398-pound ft of g-force inducing torque. The car is laden in a mix of sheet metal and carbon fiber that wraps around the 471 horsepower centerpiece V8 engine.

6. LFA

Speaking of the LFA it's time that we finally got to the car that made the automotive world spit out its collective coffee when the vehicle was unveiled years ago. The limited edition coupe came with a bevy of parts like a high revving 5.2-liter V10 and a digital tach since a normal one couldn't keep up with the rocket-like acceleration. The lightweight car put out 552 horsepower that enabled the car to do zero to sixty in a scant 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph.

7. LFA Nürburgring Edition

Okay okay, I know we're double dipping on this one but for now, this is the definitive Lexus when it comes to blowing the doors off of the competition. This iteration of the LFA comes with another 10 horsepower over the stock version, a tweaked transmission, more aero than before and a suspension that was made to cut through corners like a hot knife. The outcome of this car during testing is the reason for its name: this model lapped the Ring in an eye-widening 7 minutes and 14 seconds! Fun bit of trivia for car buffs is that the car did it on non-competition tires and was still faster than a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
