Tim151's Build Explained

Tim151's IS350 reminds us that modding a Lexus can retain its class and comfort while increasing performance! Simple bolt-on modifications like headers, a cold-air intake, and a tune can completely transform the driving experience of your Lexus IS350. Combined with tasteful exterior and interior mods, you can really bring your IS to a whole new level as Tim151 has. Read on to get the details on Tim151's build and take inspiration for your own ride.

The Start of an Amazing Journey

Tim's journey started in Ohio, where he purchased a pre-owned 2015 IS350 that had just come off of a lease. Tim wanted this exact spec so he drove hundreds of miles from his hometown of Charlotte, NC to buy the Lexus. Tim's purchase was a huge upgrade over his Scion TC which he had also modded over time. It wasn't long after the purchase when the mods started to roll in...

The Exterior Mods Start

Tim's first series of mods were Burger Motorsports 25mm wheel spacers and NIA Autodesign eyelids to give the already-aggressive stock IS350 a more flush stance. Next came a TRD rear spoiler and roof spoiler to help match the aggressive front fascia of the vehicle. Tim rounded off the exterior with RR Racing emblems, carbon fiber B-pillars, and NIA Auto Design side skirts and rear aprons.

Can't Forget the LEDs

Tim151 made the effort to address every aspect of his IS350, including the lighting. The stock Lexus lighting package is adequate, but the iJDMTOY foglights turn up this Lexus to another level!

Exotic Touches

Next came a healthy serving of carbon fiber to the center console and aluminum to make the interior's tone match the aggressive exterior. The supercar-esque DTSM Rioja red carbon fiber steering wheel sets this IS350 apart.

Dressing up the V6

The IS350's V6 is unleashed with PPE Headers, an RR Racing Carbon Intake, and a custom RR Racing tune. These mods provide a significant bump in horsepower and a harmonious sound. A Toms Racing strut bar keeps the chassis in check and provides some eye candy under the hood.

New Shoes for the Lexus

Perhaps the most important aspect of any car build is the wheel choice and Tim151 nailed it. These Ferrada FR2 wheels in 19x8.5+35/19x9.5+40 provide perfect fitment and provide an aggressive aesthetic without overdoing it. Michelin Pilot Sport 4+ tires in 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 wrap the wheels to keep the IS350 planted in all driving conditions. Custom painted blue calipers help the Lexus stand out even more.

The Project Continues

We can safely say that Tim151's IS350 is one of the cleanest builds out there, but just like every car build, more mods will follow. We are looking forward to what Tim151 has in store for his mint Nebula Gray IS350.
