1. Does the A stand for all included?

If you're familiar with Lexus safety tech then you already know that the current LS comes with the normal Safety System +. For those of you unfamiliar with what this level is, there is a Pre-Collision System, Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, and Automatic High Beam.

This new level of features dubbed Safety System A+ will come with eight electronic nannies that are designed to keep not just you safe but to eliminate needless traffic casualties.

2. Road Sign Assist

Have you ever been driving along on an unfamiliar road and almost ran a stop sign that you couldn't make out due to an obstruction like a low hanging tree branch? Well, Lexus looks to prevent these tense moments with Road Sign Assist which will use GPS data and a camera to warn drivers of upcoming signs by throwing an alert up on the heads-up display along with the multi-information display.

3. Pedestrian Alert

The Pre-Collision System will now come with the world's first Pedestrian Alert Tech that will actively notice a person in front of your car but will determine where they are headed. This information will be relayed to the heads up display with a warning for you to take notice of.  If you are traveling at a speed in which a collision cannot be avoided, then Active Steering along with the brakes will take over in order to minimize damage to the car.

4. Lane Tracking Assist

The work that Lexus has been doing with automated driving comes into play by use of the Lane Tracing Assist. This feature is active when Adaptive Cruise Control is on and will keep the car firmly planted in its own lane even if there is a bend. This is possible by using a camera that tracks lane markings while simultaneously tracking the path of the vehicle directly in front. If you are coming into a sharp turn and your speed is too high the car will send an alert to the display before taking matters into its own hands to slow the car down.

5. Lane Change Assist

Have any issues maneuvering the LS through rough traffic? Then let's talk about Lane Change Assist, which will monitor the traffic around you as well as the environment in order to get out where you need to be. If you have any trepidations about how to apply any pedal and steering finesse, Lexus has got you covered since the system will control both.

6. Driver Emergency Stop Assist

The new LS will also be ready to assist in case of a driver becoming incapacitated while behind the wheel. Thanks to the Driver Emergence Stop Assist there will be audio and visual alerts to rouse a driver before the car goes full Hal 9000 and brings the car to a complete stop. I know what you're thinking and no the car won't just stop in the middle of a street or highway. The LS will begin making its way over all by itself with hazard lights engaged and constant beeping of the horn to alert other motorists that there is a problem. Once the car is stopped the doors will unlock and HELPNET will be contacted for a rescue effort.

7. Front Cross Traffic

Another world first for the car and Lexus is a Front Cross Traffic Alert that will monitor forward cross-traffic and use that information to help you prevent a collision. If the situation arises then an alert will be sent to the heads up display and a buzzer will sound.

8. Intelligence Clearance Sonor

To cap things off, Lexus has your back when you're parking, too. The LS will use Intelligence Clearance Sonor and the new feature of Rear Cross Traffic Auto Brake in order to stop an accident or at the very least minimize damage or injury.
