The GXOR Concept Is Pure Off-Road Bliss

If you haven't noticed, off-roading is hot again. Automotive manufacturers are tripping over themselves to build lifted, knobby-tired trucks and SUVs capable of hauling tents and people into the wilderness for days at a time. And now, even Lexus is getting in on this hot trend. Well, sort of.

Playing With Acronyms

This glorious machine you see before you is officially called the Lexus GXOR Concept. Which is shorthand for "GX Off-Road." And it's every bit as amazing as you'd expect it to be.

Everything, Including Maybe the Kitchen Sink

To honor those folks, Lexus threw everything but the kitchen sink at this GX. Even though we're sure you could probably hook one up. And it's even towing a Patriot Campers X1H trailer because Lexus owners don't sleep in their vehicles, now do they?

Fortified Suspension

To fortify the suspension of the GXOR, Lexus went with an entire ICON setup with 2.5" coilovers with remote reservoirs and billet control arms with delta joints. The ute's F Sport wheels are also wrapped in knobby 275/70/18 General Grabber tires.

Getting out of Trouble

CBI frame sliders and full underbody armor ensure that you won't get stranded on some rock in the middle of nowhere. And if you do, you can pull yourself out with a Warm 9.5" XPS winch, which is hidden in a CBI Custom Stealth front bumper.

Impressive Kit

The rest of the kit on the GXOR is equally impressive. Goodies like an ICOM ham radio, 50" Rigid light bar, Safari snorkel, Redarc Tow-Pro brake controller, and even an Overland Solar panel to power all your toys.

Storage Galore

There's plenty of extra storage here as well, aside from the trailer you're pulling. Up top, you'll find a set of Alu-Box storage cases mounted on an EEZI-AWN roof rack. It's there that you'll also find MaxTrax recovery boards for an extra safety measure in case you get stuck.

Practical Space

Open up the rear of the GXOR, and you'll find even more storage thanks to a Goose Gear custom drawer system. There's also a National Luna fridge back there to store your cold ones. Oh, and probably food, too.

Build Your Own

As you might imagine, the GXOR Concept is exactly that... a concept. But it's also a nice reminder that there is a robust aftermarket out there just in case you want to build your own serious off-road GX. Now, if we can just get Lexus to offer some sort of off-road package from the factory, we'll be in business!
