Some of the Lexuses from the 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon (Photos)

The Tokyo Auto Salon just passed last month but we just wouldn't be doing our jobs without showing off some of the Lexus models on display. Here are our pics from the show.

1. Caught outside

Japan has always been a place where crazy body kits and other mods can be found all over the place. The aftermarket community is huge with a plethora of parts and pieces available to owners who wish to add a unique flair to their car. Outside the Tokyo Auto Salon, there were so many modded cars to see that ranged from a classic AE86 Corolla to V-spec R34 GT-R. This IS 250 is outfitted with the quad exhaust system straight off of the big brother IS F model.

2. Back up bike on the rear

With all of the widebody kits on display, it's become kind of tough to tell Rocket Bunny from Aimgain. Nevertheless, there were many cars on display that showcase the aspect that those in Japan will customize their cars as they wish without giving a damn what others may think of it. Haters gonna hate, but JDM cars will keep being uniquely amazing.

3. Widebody fever

The LS was a popular pick this year for a canvas for their automotive mods. This particular car was the recipient of an exposed rivets widebody kit. I think the kit itself is interesting on the top of the line sedan but I am just not a fan of that terrible negative camber stance look.

4. Ruby red with gold

If it weren't for the negative camber on the back of this one, I would say this is my personal pick from the show. Beautiful, sleek, and just the right amount of showy makes this IS one to see. TAS is one of the first big motor shows of the year in Japan for brands to show off their latest creations.

5. An SUV rebel

This RX200t is wearing a Zeus Luv-line body kit that made the SUV almost unrecognizable at first glance with it low slung ride height and aggressive panels. To get a more intimate view of the car at the show just click here for a video.

6. Ready for takeoff

This VIP style LS has a very mean street racing flair to it that I can't make up my mind about. I love the feeling behind a kit like this but everything is just overdone, busy, and a bit farfetched. Unless this thing is going to take off and land at an airport, I seriously doubt a car needs this many lights to navigate the streets. To each his own.

7. Farewell until next year

TAS is for the most part the most highly anticipated Japan-based car event of the year. This year it continued on with a heavy emphasis on the aftermarket division and a decline in the more sedate fare that one would expect. If you are in Japan when the show is going on, we highly advise that you make the journey down and check things out for yourself. It is an epic event you will not soon forget.
