Meet the owner of this gorgeous LS 400.

It wasn't just David Adame's love of Lexus alone that led him to give his LS 400 this special do-over. That was a major part of it for sure, but a project like this was bound to happen for him at one point or another. This project car is the result of a passionate quest for class. The fundamental appeal of Lexus lies in the elegance of their cars. For one man to try and up Lexus at their own game is no small feat.

For those in the know, the VIP scene of mod styling emphasizes creating a homegrown version of the high-class luxury a manufacturer like Mercedes-Benz is known for. Inspired by his experiences with stock Lexus, David has been increasingly fascinated by VIP style modding since as far back as 2008. Fast forward several years, and David's now got a VIP Lexus to run alongside the very best of them.

The lure of uplifting a Lexus.

David Adame used to be a Honda Civic owner. However, it only took a few rides in his aunt's Lexus to convince him that's where he wanted to be. In addition to being the time he really began nurturing his interest in VIP, 2008 was also the year where David got a Lexus of his very own, the 2000 LS 400 pictured here.

Using it as his daily driver, it wasn't long before his modding interest began to leak into the Lexus itself. Between a WALD International lip kit and extensive suspension overhaul, (to name a couple of changes) David slowly transformed his LS 400 into something unique, all the while holding onto that inimitable Lexus personality.

The luxury isn't just for show.

One of the benefits of VIP modding over performance jobs is that an owner can reap the benefits of their effort using it as a daily driver. There's no test track booking needed to enjoy the fine-tuned aesthetics and world-class experience the VIP scene looks to bring to their cars. In addition to the lip work and suspension, Adame spray painted the whole car black. Where some VIP projects may come across as overzealous and kitschy with their glam, this Lexus manages to balance out the low-riding edge factor with stately elegance.

This Lexus has got audio galore.

The black leather interior matches the suave black paint job. The low-riding suspension gives a notable difference in the way you would see the road behind the wheel. Although you probably wouldn't notice by sight alone, David installed an extensive custom audio system in the car. For those audiophiles among us, this Lexus comes installed with a Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT AV receiver, a full set of speakers via JL Audio, and a pair of amps to go with it. Of special interest is the custom subwoofer fixed in the trunk. Nothing says VIP quite like the ability to make neighbors' windows shake.

For David, the VIP car scene is a second family.

David was huge into VIP style modding from the beginning. A large part of this was because of the community itself, which he perceived as being much more like family than your regular car club. David is currently part of a VIP scene called Endless Projects, and has made plenty of lifelong friendships as a pleasant side-effect of this shared obsession.

A modder's work is never truly done...

The name of the club David is a part of says a lot the process of VIP modding. It really is an "Endless Project," and David would be the first one to admit it. In any event, the work he's already done on his LS 400 has made it one of the most charismatic Lexus mods we've ever seen. Our hats are off to you, David!
