New Lexus LF, NX, and LX Reportedly Coming by 2022
We could see some major changes to the Lexus lineup very soon.
Big Things Coming
Lexus is doing quite well in the U.S., but there's no denying that it has a few models in dire need of major updates. The automaker clearly knows this as well, and has already introduced a few changes to its existing lineup, including a refresh for the IS sedan. However, according to a recent report from Japanese site Best Car Web, Lexus has some big things coming in the next model year or two.

New Flagship
The first tidbit of information here relates to the LF crossover, which was previewed by the Limitless concept. Best Car Web says that the new model is due to arrive in June of 2021, which seems a bit soon. Regardless, when it does launch, the LF will be the new flagship of the Lexus lineup.

Powertrains
The LF is believed to be based on the LS, and as such, should utilize the same drivetrains including the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid combination. But rumors also suggest that it could get the long-awaited twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, an engine that may or may not be dead.

Next NX
Next up is the new NX, which is reportedly on the way for May of 2022. Riding on Toyota's New Global Architecture Platform, the next NX is said to come with the RAV4's 2.5-liter hybrid and a 2.4-liter turbo engine with around 300 horsepower.

LX Updates
Last but not least, the large and loved LX is due for a replacement in October of 2021 and is said to be taking a bit of a different route to differentiate itself from the Toyota Land Cruiser. However, the current model's 5.7-liter V8 is reportedly going to stick around in the new model.

Grain of Salt
These changes would go a long way in updating Lexus' lineup to help make it more competitive in the red-hot crossover and SUV market. But like most rumors, we'll just have to take them with a grain of salt until we get some further confirmation.
