Lexus Working Hard to Attract Audi and BMW Owners

The Lexus LS was already cheaper than its German rivals, and now it's getting even cheaper.

Enticing Proposition

When Lexus came to be a little over 30 years ago, their immediate goal was to compete with the well-established German luxury brands. And since then, they've done a great job of carving out a niche in that particular marker. But even today, Lexus is doing whatever it can to lure customers away from the BMW, Audi, and Mercedes faithful. The newest LS is a great example of their refocused efforts, and it's even more enticing than ever right now.

Amazing Offer

The most recent incentives offered by Lexus on its flagship LS and LS Hybrid were more enticing than ever, offering up to $8,500 off MSRP. For a car loaded with content that already undercuts the competition with a base price of $75,450, that's a pretty amazing deal.

Big Money Back

Breaking down the incentives, both the 2019 Lexus LS and LS Hybrid have a $6,000 cashback offer. This applies to the LS 500, LS 500 F Sport, LS 500 AWD, LS 500 AWD F Sport, LS Hybrid, and LS Hybrid AWD. The additional $2,500 is available in the form of customer loyalty cash.

Fine Print

To qualify for the customer loyalty cash discount, your or any member of your household must currently own or lease any Lexus model. Which, we're guessing, you already do. If you qualify for this particular offer, you could score a new LS for as little as $66,950, which is one seriously amazing deal.

One Exclusion

Personally, we'd opt for the LS 500 AWD F Sport, which rings in at as little as $76,170 with the discounts. Or, if you prefer to go Hybrid, you can get an LS 500h for as little as $71,510. The only LS that doesn't qualify for this offer is the Inspiration Series, which starts out at $97,665.

Undercutting the Competition

No matter which way you go, you'll be paying far less than you would for any of the competition's current offerings. The Audi A8 carries a base price of $85,200, the BMW 7-Series rings in at $86,450, and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will set you back at least $94,250. Current incentives excluded, of course.

Easy Choice

Thus, it's pretty hard to make a case for going with one of the German full-size luxury sedans. The Lexus LS has already proven itself quite capable of competing with these cars, even if you don't factor in price. But with the hefty discount, this decision gets that much easier.
