From Russia With Love

Cosplay, the act of dressing up like a character from your favorite movie, video game, or comic book, has gained popularity in recent years as events are now held around the globe at various times throughout the year. Apparently, cosplay has even caught on in Russia (especially futuristic post-apocalyptic cosplay) and has proven to be a big source of inspiration for the builder of this radical motorcycle that looks as if it has been pulled straight out of a Mad Max movie.

Video Games and V8 Muscle

The creator of this brute is said to be quite fond of Fallout, an open-world video game set in the aftermath of a global nuclear war, and wanted to finish off his cosplay costume by constructing a makeshift motorcycle out of random used parts. Russia Today reports that the unnamed builder saw a V8-powered motorcycle in America (likely a Boss Hoss or similar) and that's all it took for him to get started on his own war bike project.

Eight Cylinders of Power

The builder from Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, constructed the bike around a 1UZ-based Toyota/Lexus 4.0L V8 engine that is good for roughly 290 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque depending on its exact configuration. The engine is coupled to its 5-speed automatic transmission, but what looks to be some sort of a homemade transfer case transmits power from the transmission to the rear wheel via dual drive chains.

A True Parts Bin Special

Most of the chassis is a mashup of square and round steel tubing that has quite literally been built around the huge lump of the engine. The most polished component of the bike is clearly the sleek girder-style front-end paired to a set of heavy-duty springs. The headlight, handlebars, risers, and instrument cluster have been pulled from a Harley V-Rod, but the monster 360 cross-section rear tire is more akin to the rubber found on a race car than that of a motorcycle.

From Fantasy to Reality

The "Gang Rena" motorcycle weighs in at a hefty 1,800 pounds and must be a bear to ride. That said, this Russian madman plans to take the bike on a 3,000-mile ride from Ufa to Vladivostok in the near future. In any case, he'll likely be making the trip in his replica Fallout T-45 cosplay armor that he has been spotted wearing on recent rides around Ufa and Yekaterinburg. Game on!
