Lexus IS Undergoes Shocking Transformation

Extreme Makeover

The builds we see take place here in the Club Lexus forums range from mild to wild, obviously. But the vast majority of them consist of things like typical visual enhancements, suspension upgrades, and performance mods. And then there are builds like Gerxiong89's bagged Lexus IS, which is more of the extreme makeover sort of transition.

Minor Mods

This amazing transformation began nearly three years ago when Ger picked up a bone stock IS. And at first, his mods were the sorts of things that you see most owners perform. First up - a Magnaflow exhaust to free up a few ponies and unleash better sound.

Losing Altitude

The next step was to lower the car and eliminate that wheel gap. Ger accomplished that task by installing a set of RSR down springs, which really improved the look of the car. Then it was on to some small visual improvements, including a de-chroming job on the front grille.

Incremental Upgrades

It wasn't long before a new front lip, trunk spoiler, and some interior LED lighting were installed. Exterior lighting was next, with new fog lights and rear LED upgrades. Spacers and painted calipers provided incremental improvements before a new set of wheels came along.

Performance Focused

Soon, the OP installed a Greddy intake and performed a muffler delete (with resonators) to coax even more sound out of his IS powerplant. And while that might've added a couple of horsepower, an Orange Virus tune did wonders for the car's responsiveness.

Show Off

Next, it was time to start working on this car's biggest upgrade yet - airbags. Ger began by fabbing up a trunk board from a piece of wood to mount the air ride setup in a manner that makes you want to open up the trunk and show it off.

Sit Down

Plans also called for powder coating the air tank, but Ger wasn't going to wait around for that to finish the install. Before long, the lines were plumbed and this thing was sitting directly on the ground.

Set It Off

The finishing touch, at least for now, was a set of custom, white powder coated wheels from Devilwerks. But then, it was back to the suspension with some new components, including Megan rear camber arms and some TPMS adapters.

Sitting Pretty

There's no doubt that this gorgeous IS was sitting pretty at this point. But it wasn't finished just yet. Ger soon finished what he started by deleting all of the chrome on the car for a super clean look.

Never Finished

Since then, this "finished" Lexus has undergone even more changes, including yet another wheel swap. But it's safe to say that this build just keeps getting better, little by little. So be sure to head over here to watch it continue to evolve moving forward!
