Lexus IS F Build Takes Things to the Next Level

Starting on Day One

For many of us, owning something like a Lexus IS F is a dream. So when we finally realize that dream, we often start personalizing it right away. And that was certainly the case with Club Lexus member JPxMODz, who started modding his IS F pretty much from day one of ownership.

Visual Upgrades

Like most projects, this one starts out with mostly visual upgrades. Things like new badges and carbon fiber interior and engine bay trim. But soon, the attention turns to performance related stuff.

Shine It Up

After cleaning up the airbox and throttle body, JPxMODz sources a JoeZ intake tube and aFe filter. To give the engine bay a bit more shine and add some rigidity, he also installs a strut tower brace.

Perfect Mix

From there, parts just keep rolling in, and they're a nice mix of styling and performance mods. Things like variable interior lighting, a handheld tuner, new badges, and a rear roof spoiler and diffuser.

Crank That

A new BaysonR front lip jazzes up that end of the car, and an LED lighting upgrade cranks up the lumens. Then comes the requisite exhaust swap, which is a Borla unit in this case.

Small Change, Big Impact

What we especially like about this IS F build is that despite the many big changes, JPxMODz doesn't ignore the little stuff either. That much is evident from small details like the TOM's oil filler cap, which makes a rather large impact under the hood.

Budget Build

But make no mistake - this is a budget build, even if it may not look that way. JPxMODz admits that the majority of his upgrades were purchased from eBay or Amazon, which is encouraging for those looking to ball out on a budget with their own rides.

Sinister Looks

Parts like the new taillights look fantastic, even if they don't cost much. Plus these, along with additional carbon fiber parts for the exterior, really add to the sinister look of the car.

Evil Transformation

Little by little, JPxMODz continues to transform the exterior of this IS F from mundane to monstrous. And a new trunk lid and rear diffuser go a long way in helping this transformation.
