Lexus IS 350 Gets a Well Deserved Second Chance

If you're patient enough to own a car long enough, it's likely to go through more than one phase. And over the last six years, that's certainly been the case with Club Lexus member badx33's IS 350. But what truly sets his ride apart, aside from its killer look, is that we can watch it all unfold right here in the forums.

Proper Stance

It all started back in 2012 when badx33 originally purchased his '08 IS used from a Lexus dealership. Nearly immediately, he installed a set of JIC Magic coilovers, as well as a new set of 18" JLine wheels wrapped in Hanook rubber.

Mod Slide

Badx33 went on to perform a host of mods to his newly beloved ride, including things like a carbon fiber front lip, F-Sport grille, carbon fiber hood and trunk, and some side skirts, to name a few.

Well Deserved Fixes

Along the way, the car was also relieved of its various dents and treated to a 2009 front bumper and some fresh paint. Soon a set of PPE headers, a mid-pipe, and a 3" HKS muffler were added to the mix.

Stepping Down, Slowing Down

At this point, the car was looking pretty amazing. But badx33 wasn't finished yet. Soon, he had some new Brembo brakes and stainless lines, with purple calipers just to add a touch of contrast.

Show and Shine

A host of goodies lie under the hood as well, including things like an Injen air intake, a host of carbon fiber bits, IS F ECU upgrade, and an Apexi throttle controller.

Carbon Everywhere

The boat loads of carbon fiber continue to the interior, where you'll find tons of the lightweight material, as well as Charge Speed carbon bucket seats, aluminum pedals, and of course, a carbon fiber shift knob.

Unique Touch

The carbon theme continues to perhaps the car's most unique feature - a custom air inlet designed to help filter cool air into the engine bay. That one little touch truly sets this IS apart from pretty much every other build out there.

Future Plans

Despite looking pretty much complete, badx33 still has a lot of additional mods planned for his long-time ride. Which includes, of course, lots more carbon fiber.
